Join a well-established UK business finance specialist providing tailored funding solutions to SMEs across sectors including agriculture, construction, manufacturing, and transport and logistics — with core products spanning hire purchase, finance lease, refinance and stock finance. The organisation is FCA-regulated and holds memberships with leading industry bodies, having grown substantially since receiving significant institutional backing, including through multiple public securitisation facilities that expand its lending capacity.

As Solutions Architect, you’ll define the target-state technical design and produce a build-ready specification following a separate Architecture & Growth Strategy Review — most likely (though not necessarily) an Azure-based integration approach connecting the core platform to other systems used across decisioning, customer/broker access, and operations.

What This Role Delivers

• Target-state architecture: Detailed design, API contracts, data flow and integration patterns specification that the internal team and any delivery partner can build against.
• Build vs. buy vs. configure decisions: Validated for each workstream against the target architecture.
• Delivery partner input: Advises on selection and reviews technical proposals from delivery partners.
• Governance: Standards, versioning and ownership model for the solution going forward, handed to the permanent platform team.
• Duration: 3 months with potential extension
• Reports to: Head of Platform Solutions

Requirements

• Demonstrable experience designing API/integration architectures on Azure API Management, Logic Apps/Functions, Service Bus or Event Grid, and associated identity/security patterns.
• A track record of designing an integration or abstraction layer that sits between a legacy or heavily customised core platform and newer digital channels.
• Financial services experience strongly preferred, ideally asset finance, leasing or adjacent regulated lending.
• Comfortable producing documentation credible to both engineers and senior stakeholders.
