Dynamics 365 & Power Platform Developer

Dynamics 365 & Power Platform Developer

Join a fast-growing UK asset finance group with ambitious plans to expand market share in existing regions and grow significantly in the vendor sales and finance space. As a Dynamics 365 & Power Platform Developer, you’ll sit within the Change Team and help develop and support the group’s core sales origination and CRM capabilities, built on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales, an asset finance origination platform and the Microsoft Power Platform.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys turning operational requirements into secure, maintainable and scalable technical solutions, reducing manual effort, improving platform resilience and helping build capability that can be owned and developed internally over time.

The Role

  • Design, configure, develop and maintain solutions within Dynamics 365 Sales, the origination platform and Dataverse, including tables, relationships, forms, views, dashboards, security roles, business rules and Business Process Flows.
  • Develop client-side functionality using JavaScript and other Dynamics 365 extensibility methods, designing solutions that work alongside managed platform components.
  • Review existing customisations and recommend ways to simplify, rationalise and improve maintainability.
  • Design, build, support and optimise Power Automate cloud flows and other approved Power Platform solutions (Power Apps, Power Pages, dataflows and Power BI), replacing manual and spreadsheet-based activity with controlled workflows.
  • Assess and develop use cases for Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, AI Builder and approved generative AI capabilities, designing and supporting copilots, agents and AI-assisted workflows connected to Dataverse, SharePoint and Teams.
  • Evaluate AI outputs for accuracy and reliability, implementing proportionate human review, fallback, monitoring and exception handling, and ensuring AI solutions meet data protection, security, auditability and responsible-AI standards.
  • Design, develop, test and maintain APIs and integrations between Dynamics 365 and internal or third-party services, including credit bureaux, identity and AML providers, document generation, e-signature, lender systems and customer, dealer or vendor portals.
  • Act as technical administrator for Dynamics 365 and Dataverse environments, managing solution deployments across development, test, sandbox and production, and maintaining security roles, application users and access arrangements.
  • Monitor Dataverse storage and recommend retention, archiving and clean-up approaches.
  • Monitor and investigate performance, availability and reliability across Dynamics 365, Power Platform automations and connected services, using plugin trace logs, system jobs, flow histories, HAR files and browser developer tools.
  • Triage technical incidents, assess business impact and escalate to Microsoft and platform suppliers where required, communicating clearly in business-friendly language.
  • Translate business requirements into proportionate, maintainable technical designs, assessing feasibility, dependencies, risks and impact, and contributing estimates and options to roadmaps and project plans.
  • Support unit, system, integration, regression and user acceptance testing, and plan controlled releases including rollback and post-release monitoring.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, release notes and support guidance, and upskill colleagues through demos, knowledge transfer and training materials.
  • Act as technical point of contact for Microsoft, platform vendors and integration suppliers, reviewing proposals and challenging solutions that don’t adequately address maintainability, performance, security or integration risk.
  • Contribute to technology roadmap discussions, explaining current architecture, constraints, risks and options.

About You

  • Strong structured problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
  • Able to translate business requirements into clear, proportionate technical solutions and explain complex matters to non-technical colleagues.
  • Comfortable balancing planned development with urgent production support, and distinguishing between an immediate workaround and the right long-term solution.
  • Self-motivated, able to manage competing priorities with limited supervision.
  • Strong written communication, documentation and knowledge-sharing skills.
  • Commercially aware when working with external technology suppliers.
  • Collaborative, with the confidence to escalate material security, compliance, performance or architectural risks.
  • Committed to developing secure, maintainable and user-focused solutions.

Requirements

  • Practical experience developing and administering Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales or another Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement application.
  • Experience of lending-sector sales processes, including lead and opportunity management, quotation, credit application, approval, documentation and conversion through to payout.
  • Strong working knowledge of Dataverse, including tables, relationships, forms, views, security roles and solutions.
  • Experience designing, supporting and troubleshooting Power Automate cloud flows, including approvals, notifications, data movement and exception handling.
  • Experience with model-driven apps, custom pages, canvas apps, Business Process Flows and business rules.
  • Working knowledge of JavaScript within Dynamics 365 forms and events.
  • Experience integrating business applications using REST APIs, JSON and authentication services, with an understanding of Microsoft 365 integration points (SharePoint, Teams, Microsoft Graph).
  • Understanding of Dynamics 365 solution management and controlled deployment between environments.
  • Experience diagnosing incidents through system jobs, flow histories, plugin traces or browser traces.
  • Practical experience using Microsoft Copilot or other approved generative AI tools, with an understanding of how AI solutions use organisational data, permissions, grounding and connectors, and the associated security, accuracy and governance risks.
  • Experience testing AI-assisted solutions, including prompt design, output validation and human oversight.
  • Desirable: Asset finance origination platform, and an understanding of asset finance processes.
  • Desirable: Power BI, Power Query and dataflows; Dynamics 365 plugins in C#; Azure services and Power Platform CLI; Power Pages portals; DocumentsCorePack, DocuSign or similar document platforms.
  • Desirable: Copilot Studio, AI Builder or Azure AI experience, including governed agents and awareness of prompt-injection and data-grounding risks.
  • Desirable: experience in financial services or another regulated environment.
  • Desirable: PL-400 or PL-200 certification; PL-600 valuable for candidates with solution architecture experience.
