The Role
- Lead day-to-day operations across all core business functions, ensuring teams are aligned with strategic objectives and equipped to deliver consistently.
- Develop and execute operational and commercial strategies that support revenue growth, improve customer experience and enhance service delivery for brokers, partners and end-customers.
- Create and refine SLAs, communication frameworks and performance standards across operations, underwriting, sales support, account management and finance.
- Embed a culture of continuous improvement by identifying process gaps, improving handoffs, strengthening controls and driving accountability across teams.
- Oversee the introduction of enhanced KPIs, reporting frameworks and operational dashboards to monitor performance and drive data-driven decision-making.
- Leverage digital tools, automation and AI-enabled workflows to streamline operations, reduce manual workloads and improve accuracy.
- Ensure the organisation maintains strong regulatory compliance and robust risk management practices, including clear risk registers, controls and escalation paths.
- Work closely with the CEO, CFO and senior leadership team to shape long-term strategy and provide insight based on operational performance and cost management.
- Take ownership of the operational cost base, ensuring effective budgeting, cost optimisation and alignment with commercial goals.
- Build a cohesive, high-performing operational culture — centered on transparency, accountability, collaboration and customer-centricity.
About You
- Experienced senior leader with a strong background as a COO, Commercial Director, Operations Director or similar leadership role within financial services.
- Proven track record of driving operational efficiency, leading cross-functional teams and improving commercial performance.
- Strong understanding of business functions including sales, marketing, finance, operations, credit and supply chain.
- A strategic thinker who enjoys hands-on leadership and isn’t afraid to get into the detail when needed.
- Excellent communicator capable of influencing at executive level and gaining buy-in across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Committed to building strong teams, implementing structure and enabling sustainable, scalable growth.
